A wildlife sculptor is often asked, “How do you carve these ducks?” He politely replies, while hefting a chunk of lumber, “You take your block of wood. Then you cut away anything that doesn’t look like a duck."
A pat answer, to be sure, but it makes sense—have a crystal clear vision of your end game and eliminate anything that doesn’t get you there. Careful consideration of your audience and what you want them to know will carve a targeted message from your story.

Lynda
Lynda is a rare breed—a data-crunching Excel queen who has discovered her creative side. During the early years, helping start-ups secure financing, she discovered that most of her clients were missing a clear definition of personal success. There she found her passion for coaching and consulting (and a budding artist in need of a business partner). Her career eventually led to work with major corporations in the practice of change management, communications and learning design. The common thread has been her ability to zoom out to define the strategic big picture, then zoom back in and get things done.

Andrew
Andy, a traditionally trained artist and designer, began his career as an award winning wildlife artist. It wasn’t until he met me that he traded his brushes for a mouse and began applying his skills to produce commercial work. Whether producing internal branding and communication materials for Fortune 100 companies, or large-scale trade show booths for emerging start-ups, Andy delivers clean, targeted designs. And yes, they win awards too!* Fortunately, he has me to keep him grounded. :)
